Kind of a slow few days here in the shed. Now that I finished work on the Wandering Cities project (should be coming out very soon) I’ve had some time on my hands. So last week I was doodling some random stuff for our Scum and Villainy campaign
First was a sketch of the “No Refunds” – our crew’s trusty old ship. Started with a drawing using the symmetry feature in photoshop (which is really fun actually) and then doing some cutaways of the individual decks for the ship.

Then that lead to some sketches around my character “Tory” who is “muscle” for the crew.

Tory is an old salt. Former Royal Marine who now spends his time looking for faces to punch. I think of him as a cross between “Violent Marv” from Sin City and “Jane” from Firefly. The game, Scum and Villainy, actually has a really cool between-session mechanic called “Downtime” where you describe what your character did between missions to rejuvenate themselves. You need to use downtime to get rid of stress and to improve or develop skills. it’s sort of like rolling the “long rest” and “leveling up” mechanics from D&D together. So, I was thinking about Tory and downtime and thought of a short comic idea about the past Tory’s been running away from on the No Refunds all these years. Anyway here it is….probably makes no sense lol. Still fun to make.
