A few good things going on this past week – mostly un-photographed so you’ll have to take my word for it.
- Met up with Nathan and Koli to learn Turtledactyl by Too Many Zoos. Great to have a good reason to hang out together and even better to have a reason to play music with people. It’s too rare.
- Went on some walks/runs and snapped some pics of plants in my yard and out in the wild. The Blue Verbain is really cool. From afar this plant looks very much like a weed but man there are some cool “weeds” if you slow down and look.
- Started reading (listening to) “Galahad and the Grail” by Malcolm Guite. I think Guite may be Bilbo Baggins reincarnated? This is listed as poetry and retells the story of the grail in rhyming verse. (much better in audio)
- Marcus told us he got a full-time job offer from the company he has been interning with the past couple summers. This was very good news! It’s a great place to work and we are really happy for him.
- Finished a rewatch of Ted Lasso with Danette and Marcus. Man that’s a good show – Season 4 starts next month
- Took the day off to go to lunch with Danette on Friday – the weather got suddenly cool so we went down to old town and walked around.
- Bought a new journal. My “journals” are full of random crap… mostly incoherrent and largely illegible. Sketches, to-do lists, whingeing, etc…But it’s something I’ve always done (reach for a notebook to write crap in) and I do enjoy looking back through the ones I still have.
- Watched Leeds United lose to Wrexham in a friendly on Saturday night. Glad we are getting close the start of the regular season. Watching Leeds has been a fun bright spot the past couple years.
- Got out on the water (twice) – Burke Lake Fishing with Ryan on Saturday AM and Occoquan with Danette, Ryan and Ann on Sunday.
- Also on Sunday, caught a Washington Spirit game at Audi field with my brothers, Brooke, Mehgan and Charlie. Drank a little too much (maybe.)

Love reading what you’re up to. Good for Marcus getting that job.
I’ve been using AI for production enhancement on some of my tunes. You might check out “Does Anyone?” on Spotify or youtube.
Just back from a week up north (Benzonia) with daughter Steph and her family. began the week with Air Quality Index at 500! Big rain cleared it out.
hah thanks and that’s cool about AI for production. one of my acquaintances is a singer and used AI to create the whole track for him to sing over. I’ll definitely check out “does anyone” on spotify. your songs usually pop up in my feed but I haven’t heard that one. We had crap AQI (about 300) right after you all did up north. nasty stinky stuff. glad it’s gone.
