Last weekend Danette and I did a mini tour of Virginia – driving with Rocky to see Marcus in Blacksburg and Colin in Richmond. It was great to see the boys and already looking forward to seeing them again 
Here’s a little round up of other things I’ve been up to this week:
- Drawing: I’ve been working on the colors for the Wandering Cities piece (progress pic below)
- Reading: The Butcher of the Forest (Premee Mohammad,) and Squeeze Me (Carl Hiaason). Both are good so far.
- Video Games: Working my way through “Blue Prince” on PS5. Fun but also a little maddening.
- TV/Movies:
- Watching the new season of Handmaid’s tale. It’s watchable but probably should have stopped this show a few seasons back. It’s well past ridiculous territory and I’m kind of done with the extreme closeups of June.
- Last of us S2: I assume the big event from the episode 2 was part of the video game? But I was definitely a bit surprised. I guess the rest of this season will be a revenge story? I’m fine with that.
- A Complete Unknown: Bob Dylan biopic. It was fine but a little boring. They did a great job with the music bits but the movie didn’t really have much of a plot. It seems like Bob’s life was pretty good and conflict free. All in all I’d say the Oscar best pic noms this year have all been kind of “meh”.
- Gardening: I always get excited about spring and spend a lot of time in the garden wishing everything would grow faster. Trying to grow some plants from seed this year with limited success and trimming early spring growth from my potted trees.
