It’s fall here in the Shed, the weather is turning cool and I’m loving it – especially just getting outside a bit more. I’ve been trying to take a short morning walk everyday after getting up (before looking at my phone) and it’s been really nice. Honestly, I think this is the best time of year: it’s the start of the new school year, the weather doesn’t hurt as much, and all the good sports are firing up again. There is a kind of energy back in everything and to me it always felt like September should be when we celebrate the new year instead of January. January is a really bad time for new things or for making changes with resolutions – everything is dark and cold and you have to sit and wait for months before you can actually do any of the things you are excited about. By the time the days get longer and the weather gets warmer we’re back in our old ruts again. Winter is for hunkering down and waiting shit out – not for making changes! Ok so maybe Spring is the best time for new things but Fall is the second best time without a doubt.
Anyway, Danette and I took a trip to Bethany Beach Delaware with a few friends last weekend which was quiet and lovely. Got a lot of quiet reading time in, got up and saw the sunset one morning, and made a short video below. Yeah i’t’s not very good but life’s a work in progress.
Over the summer I was playing with Claude Code to see what I could do with it and learned a lot. I created an app to track my bonsai collection and it turned out pretty cool. Then this week my buddy Adam over at 180lunches.com was sharing some of the website updates he has been making and got me geeked up. So the first thing I did was rewrite my bonsai app and link it here online. (I also added it to the site nav bar.) Anyway, I encourage you to go play with the dev tools out there whether it’s with Gemini, GPT or Claude – just build your self something you wish you had. Lots of fun.
- Inktober is coming around again and I may try that again if I don’t have anything else going on.

- Watching: “Man Finds Tape” Horror. This one didn’t make the cut for my October list so I started watching it early. Only watched the first half but it’s interesting so far. Sort of a Blair Witch found footage thing with a modern twist. (Prime video)
